Alex Henderson is a Senior Experimental Officer and Honorary Lecturer in Analytical Science at the University of Manchester. He obtained a degree in Chemistry (1988) and a doctorate in Surface Chemistry (1996) from UMIST, Manchester where he was previously an Honorary Lecturer in Cheminformatics.

His research interests lie in data reduction, working mainly with the results from ToF-SIMS (time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry) and IR (infra red spectroscopy) experiments in cell chemistry using chemometric and cheminformatic approaches.
