Currently there is a BBSRC DTP PhD position available, project entitled "Cardiac remodelling at low temperature".
The studentiship will test the hypothesis that biomolecular remodelling in response to cold alters the electrical and mechanical properties of the heart. They will test this hypothesis in cold-active (trout) and cold-dormant (turtle) ectothermus using a range of approaches including infrared spectroscopy of both single cell and tissue.
This project is a joint project with Holly Shields in the faculty of Life Sciences.
Applications for PhD positions from suitably qualified candidates are
welcome all year round.
Applications from suitable qualified Post Doc and Fellows who have
already obtained funding are especially welcome.
Anybody applying for a fellowship and is interested in working with the
group is also encouraged to contact Peter Gardner to discuss the project at the
earliest opportunity.
Funded Post Doc positions will be advertised periodically but all
enquiries are welcome.
